Brother’s Adrian and Hernan of Nueva Aventura learned wine making from their father Manuel who worked for three decades as a foreman of an organic apple and pear orchard that evolved into Pheasant Valley Vineyard and Winery. Adrian and Hernan spent significant time learning how to care for the land, harvest and pack its fruit, and craft beautifully drinkable wines.
The brothers then worked alongside Nate Ready at Hiyu Wine Farm where they crafted minimal intervention wines—working with organic or biodynamic farmers, foot treading, no pumps, no added yeast, minimal sulfur, long macerations, gently basket pressed, and unfiltered.
The 2020 Mezcolanza is a delightful 50-50% blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc. Don’t be afraid to try this wine chilled—the bright-berry joyfulness is perfect with a touch of coolness on a summer evening.

“Mezcolanza or mish mash, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc. Both grapes were treated differently in the process of making this tasty delight. The Blanc was press immediately after an early harvest then directly into barrel fermentation. The Cab sat and fermented on 50% whole cluster & 50% destemmed skins for about 3 weeks. Both wines were then blended to create our Mezcolanza after sitting in barrel for only 12 months.” -Nueva Aventura Wines
