Emme Wines, "Tell Your Sister I Say Hi" 2021 (Orange)

$32.00

2021 Emme "tell your sister I said hi"

Mendocino, California

Grapes: Chardonnay, Colombard

DAME WINE CLUB PICK

THINKER OCTOBER 2023

We shared winemaker Rosalind Reynolds’ Emme Merlot with you in April, and we are such fans of both her wines and her community-driven ethos, that we are now bringing you this peachy, skin-contact delight. Perfect for pairings with autumn afternoons and cheese & charcuterie.

As you may remember, Rosalind named the winery after her grandmother Emme, “who was passionate about local, organic produce and a rich Napa Chardonnay.” While Rosalind will point out that her taste in wines might differ from her Grandmother’s palate, she does hold dear her grandmother’s beliefs about sustainable agriculture and carries those practices forward in both her grape-growing and wine-making.

As Rosalind says, “At the end of the day, wine should be enjoyed with your own community of friends and family. I aim to make fresh, bright wines that taste good, encourage thoughtful discussion, and ultimately bring people together.”

Chardonnay, Colombard

While ‘amando el sol’ (another wine from this producer) is a direct to press white wine, this is the skin contact version (one week on their skins before being pressed then aged over the winter in neutral oak barriques).

Think peach Snapple, peach rings, all things peaches – but throw in some mango too! Textured with a salty edge. Evolves and opens slowly in the glass.

We describe it in two words: Amazingly Delicious.” -Primitive Selections
